As an organization, we are dedicated to creating safe, enjoyable family snowmobiling experiences in the avalanche-free areas we proudly manage. Powered 100% by passionate volunteers, we work tirelessly to keep our riding areas open, accessible, and safe for everyone to enjoy.
Each year, we groom hundreds of kilometers of trails and actively manage two riding areas to ensure riders have the best possible experience. Our organization also maintains and provides emergency warm-up shelters within these riding areas, offering comfort and safety when it’s needed most.
Welcome to the Kamloops Snowmobile Association
The Kamloops Snowmobile Association operates in partnership with Recreation Sites and Trails BC (RSTBC) and the British Columbia Snowmobile Federation.
The KSA grooms two riding areas in the immediate Kamloops region. These trails offer both rideable loop systems and access points into off-trail boondocking terrain, including sub-alpine, low-slope riding opportunities.
Grooming operations are carried out using a BR 180 snowcat equipped with a custom drag, as well as a Ski-Doo Skandic paired with a scaled-down drag. These two units make up the majority of weekly grooming activities.
Annual membership typically ranges between 200 and 250 members from Kamloops and surrounding communities. The club is responsible for the maintenance and operation of 10 emergency warm-up shelters under our partnership with RSTBC (Recreation Sites and Trails BC) and BC Parks.
These small cabins are publicly accessible and maintained throughout the area to provide safe shelter in the event of an emergency. They also serve as places where riders can stop, rest, and socialize within our riding areas.
The KSA also holds one of the few agreements with BC Parks that permits snowmobiling within three provincial parks: Porcupine Meadows, Tsintsunko Lake, and Bonaparte Lake.
